Are you a die-hard chocolate lover?! Well, if you are, National Geographic has named the top 10 places to get the best chocolate in the world! If you are in the traveling mood, and would like to go on an adventure during your summer vacation, Canada is the closest place to go, while still crossing a border and getting your passport checked. The Chocoholic Buffet in Vancouver, Canada is number one on the list. This buffet is located in Sutton Place Hotel’s Fleuri Restaurant. The buffet has an all-you-can-eat chocolate buffet. This restaurant serves homemade cakes, pastries, pies, and other delicious goodies made of premium-quality Schokinag chocolate. The restaurant also serves liquor flavored cocktails and liqueurs.

If, however, you are looking to go on a road trip without crossing any country borders, New York City has the second best chocolate place. The Magnolia Bakery is downtown and has a sweet 1950s style to it. In one episode of Sex and the City, some of the characters stopped into the shop for a cupcake-fueled sugar rush, which made the store more popular. Magnolia Bakery is famous for red velvet chocolate cupcakes. The bakery also dispenses an array of brightly colored cupcakes, banana pudding, cookies, cherry cheesecake, and brownies
The third best place in the world for chocolate is also in New York City. This little shop is called Max Brenner, and they are known for their amazing hot chocolate that is served in a hand warming “hug mug” that spoils the drinker. This shop is a Broadway shop and restaurant who offer a varied amount of cacao-based products from their chocolate truffle martini to chocolate fondue and to Young’s chocolate stout.

There is nothing better in the world than a cold and refreshing ice cream during a blazing hot day in summer. It must mean something if the top 3 ice cream places recommended by national geographic.com are here in the United States! Capogiro Gelato is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the use the freshest of fresh ingredients, like milk from Amish grass-fed cows.
Each day, the workers at Capogiro Gelato handcraft the gelatos and sorbettos. Some of the flavors sold in the shop can not be found anywhere else in Pennsylvania. They use Madagascar bourbon vanilla, a type of pomegranate called melograno, a type of hazelnut called nocciola Piemonte, Saigon cinnamon, Thai coconut milk with a spritz of rum and zucca, a long neck pumpkin. If you are interested in going, Capogiro has four different cafes in Philadelphia.

Summer 2012 is going to be the best one yet! After reading an article on National Geographic, I was given some great ideas of awesome places to visit while on summer break! Iceland is one of the top recommended places because of its majesticness. If you are really into the past, there are many tours that you can take. The Pearl, Hallgrímskirkja church, the harbor and the famous 101 Reykjavik neighborhood are all highly recommended travel sites. A unique proximity to nature, with Salmon River Elliðaá running through it, a thermal beach at Nauthólsvík, green valleys and outdoor swimming pools, makes the city of Reykjavik like no other in the world. If you are more of an outdoor person, the Snæfellsnes peninsula is a perfect place to visit. The peninsula has white and black beaches, amazing mountains, bird cliffs, volcanic craters, filled trout lakes and salmon rivers in the lush valleys.
If you are interest in touring any of these places mentioned, Iceland Tours would be more than happy to accommodate you. For more information, go check out their website at: http://www.icelandtours.is/en/activity/1039/blue-lagoon-no-entry.aspx!

Some people don't like staying home all summer, so they go to summer camps with other kids around their age! In Massachusetts alone, there are over 100 summer camps. From the age of 6 to 11, I went to Brigss Field Half Day Camp, an activity put on by the Plymouth Recreation Department. Briggs Field camp is located in Plymouth, MA, and is only 3 hours a day for 6 weeks. Campers have the choice to either participate in two of the activities: tennis, baseball, basketball or arts and crafts for an hour each. At the end of their 2 activities, there is a snack and a big game. Anyone can play in the big game, and if they don't want to, they can decide to do arts and crafts. Pony Express, dodgeball, and kickball are some of the favorite big games. For the past couple years, Briggs Field has been at Briggs Field, but now they are moving the 1/2 day program to Hedges Pond, which is still in Plymouth. For all my followers:
Summer is getting closer day by day, but that doesn't mean there can be slacking off in any school subjects! As the school year starts to come to an end, paying attention and studying starts to become more important to study for the final exams. As much as we don't want to we have to realize that summer will be here soon enough.
